In true Virginia fashion, we were met with another rainy day on the day that we had planned Melanie and AJ’s engagement session. I feel like it has been raining non-stop since the beginning of September. Melanie, AJ, and I considered rescheduling to another day, but Melanie and AJ were troopers and they wanted to keep the session as scheduled. We got a little creative and decided to do the first half of their session at Marigold Coffee inside of The Virginian and then headed over to Randolph college to take advantage of their covered walkways while still getting some natural outdoor light. They also brought along the cutest clear bubble umbrella, so that we could do some cool photos outside in the rain. Melanie and AJ’s session is the perfect example that you can still have an amazing engagement session even when the weather isn’t holding up, which has been very frequent lately.
Melanie is actually the sister of one of my past grooms, Luke (View his and Mandi’s wedding here). I absolutely love having relatives of my past brides and grooms reach out and book me for their own wedding or portrait sessions! It means so much to me that they loved their family member’s photos and experience with me so much that they want to use me as well! Melanie and AJ are so sweet and I loved their engagement session! I cannot wait for their wedding in October of this year!
Here are my favorites from their engagement session; I hope you love them as much as I do!
Beautifully done. Reflects the true feelings this couple, AJ and Melanie have for each other. Love it!
AJ and Melanie, the pics are beautiful! I am so happy for the both of you. Can’t wait for that unforgettable day to arrive. Be Happy! All my love, Momma M!😍😘😁❤
